           With the development of industry (工业) ，pollution is becoming more serious now. Don’t you see the heavy smoke from the big chimneys (烟囱) ? Don’t you smell the gas from the motors all around the streets? We’ve got much dirtier air!The icebergs (冰山) are melting (融化) from the warmer winter because of the air pollution!

           Don't you see there are fewer living things in the water? We ve got much darker water running around!The oceans (海洋) are in great danger. The polluted water not only kills fish,it is also harmful to our health. Many people get sick because they drink the polluted water. In some rivers the water is so dirty that they can even kill plants.

           Don’t you see the mountains getting bald? Don’t you see our ground becoming sick? We can see few green things. The resources on the earth are running out.

           We have only one earth. We should fight against the pollution. To protect the environment,we should do as follows：

           On one hand,the government should make laws for factories to use environmentally friendly fuel (能源) and stop factories from giving off polluted gases in the air. On the other hand,we should plant more trees and flowers around us. In this way,we can protect the environment effectively (有效地) and our home —the earth.
