    People can unlock the shared bikes by simply using their smartphones. The bikes have GPS and can be left anywhere in public for the next user. They’re popular among many Chinese people as they provide a good solution to the “last mile” problem, which means the final leg of a person’s journey.

    China’s government praised Mobike and Ofo last month. They said that bike-sharing was a good way of cutting air pollution and traffic pressure.
