    4．Years ago I worked at a factory in a small town．Every day I got up early and often did lots of extra work at night．I was so tired．My whole life seemed hopeless．Then one day I read the following article from a magazine．
    A woman went to live with her husband in camp in the Mojave Desert．She simply hated the place：the heat was almost unendurable--up to 52℃in the shade（阴凉处），the wind never stopped，and there was sand everywhere．Finally，feeling hopeless，she wrote to her parents in Ohio，said that she couldn't stand it another minute and was coming home．
    Quickly came the reply by airmail from her father--just two lines：
    "Two men looked out from prison bars（监狱铁栅）"．One saw the mud，and the other saw stars．
    The daughter did some real thinking，not only with her head but also with her heart．She decided to stay there with her husband．
    She made friends with the natives，learned to love the place，and finally wrote a book about it．
