We have had a discussion about whether you like eating your lunch at school?

Most students think it¡¯s a good choice to eat at school. Firstly, eating at school is good for their health. Because the food at school is cleaner than that outside the school. Secondly, it¡¯s safer to stay at school. What¡¯s more, school can provide a balanced diet for us. At the same time, it can save our time.

While, some students hold the opposite idea. In their opinion, the kinds of foods at school are very simple and the taste is not delicious. What¡¯s worse, they can¡¯t choose their favorite foods.

As far as I am concerned, it¡¯s better for us to eat lunch at school . But if there are more varieties of foods for us to choose , it would be better.

The human brain weighs about 1.4 kilograms, but it can, hold much more information than most computers. However, there is another difference between humans and computers. Computers don't forget information they are given, but humans often do. No one remembers everything, and luckily we don't usually have to. But everyone can improve their memory if they want to. Here are some suggestions.

¡ôTry to use new information immediately. For example, if you meet someone who says "Hi! I'm Carlos," don't just say "Hello." Repeat the person's name. Say"____"

¡ôBreak a big number into smaller parts. For example, it's hard to memorize 109244153. But if you break it into three parts--109/244/153¡ªit becomes easier.

¡ôWrite out what you need to remember over and over again. This will help you keep it in mind longer, especially for memorizing formulas (¹«Ê½) or facts.

¡ôAlways review information. If you bring what you've learned back to your mind, they become easier to remember. For example, before you go to sleep, it¡¯s a good idea to review the new things you learned that day.

¡ôDiscuss with a friend. It is always easier to remember things through discussions. You can have a discussion about what¡¯s right and what's wrong, and it will lead to the right answer.

¡ôNever tell yourself that you have a bad memory. You can always do something to help improve your memory. And everyone's memory gets better if they use it often enough.

All of the suggestions are helpful. If you follow them, you are certain to improve your memory.

One day at the end of the class, a wise teacher told each of her students to bring a plastic bag and a bag of potatoes to school.

The next day she told her students, ¡°From today on, for every person you don¡¯t like in your lives, you can choose a potato, write the person¡¯s name and the date on it and then put it in the plastic bag.¡± Day after day, some of the students¡¯ bags were very heavy. They were then told to carry this bag with them everywhere they went for a week. They would put it inside their quilts at night, on the seats when sitting in a car or on a bus, and next to their desks at school. The days carrying the bag around with them made students get to know what a weight they were carrying in their minds. They had to pay attention to it all the time so that they wouldn¡¯t forget it. As time passed by, the potatoes went bad and smelt nasty(¶ñÐĵÄ). They all tried to get rid of them.

Too often we think of tolerance(¿íÈÝ) as a gift to other people, and clearly it is for ourselves! If we choose to keep our sadness and hatred in our hearts, we will have to carry them around all our lives.

A . The names of the persons they didn¡¯t like and the date.

B. The names of the persons they liked and the date

C. Their own names and the date.

D. The names of their family members and the date

2.How did the students try to deal with the potatoes when they went bad?

A. Ate them up. B. Kept them.

C. Give them away D. Threw them away.

3.The students would put the bags in the following places except__________

A. inside their quilts

B. next to their desks at school

C. on the seats in a car or on a bus

D. in their friends¡¯ houses

4.Which is the best title of the passage

A. Carrying potatoes. B. Less hatred, happier life.

C. Keeping sadness and hatred. D. a bag of potatoes

One day in the eighth grade, I was taking a Math Test on basic trigonometry (Èý½Çѧ). Now for a middle school student, there was nothing basic at all about it. So I had studied for about two hours the night before. After reviewing it for some time, I had started to understand it, so then I closed the book and _________. However, it was not until midnight that I fell asleep. The next day, when I got the test, it might as well have been written in Serbian (which I don¡¯t know how to read). I tried my best to work out the hard problems, but the numbers I came up with were strange. I sat back on my chair and looked for any possible answers, but I could not remember anything or think correctly. I started thinking about my dad coming home from work to find that I failed the test ¡

¡°How could you have failed the test? I am certain that nobody else in the whole class got as bad a grade as you did!¡±

Naturally I didn¡¯t want that to happen. My dad was also really busy at work at present, so I was afraid that this might make him mad. When feeling hopeless, I noticed that my table partner was writing fast on his test. I could see smoke rising up from how fast he was writing. I was attracted to look over at his test, but then the many bad results I had heard about cheating (×÷±×) came into my mind. I reasoned that if I started cheating now, it would be hard to give up that habit during high school. In the end, I decided not to copy his answers, and got a B- on that test. Even though my dad gave me a hard time about it, it would have been a lot worse if he found out that I had given in and cheated.

1.The writer might feel ______ before the Math Test.

A. surprised B. relaxed

C. worried D. excited

2. Which is the best expression to fill in the blank (¿Õ°×´¦) in the passage?

A. had breakfast B. went to bed

C. took exercise D. rode to school

3. The writer¡¯s father was ______.

A. proud of him B. tired of him

C. strict with him D. pleased with him

4.From the passage, we know that the writer ______.

A. could read Serbian B. didn¡¯t cheat at last

C. got a good grade at last D. didn¡¯t work hard that night
