    Seven People Drowned in a Reservoir (水库) Reporter Tang got the news from Guangdong Provincial Government that seven people died in a drowning accident on April 5th,2015. A 17-year-old girl,Xiao Yi,fell into a reservoir while washing hands after a tomb (墓) sweeping with her family. Her sister,her parents,her brother and some of her relatives jumped into the water one after another to save her,although they didn't have good swimming skills. Unfortunately,none of them succeeded. As a result,Xiao Yi and six of her family members lost their lives.

    Three People Lost Their Lives in the Dongjiang River On May 1st,2015,seven middle school students went swimming in the Dongjiang River. At first,they had a great time playing in the cool water. Suddenly one of the boys had a cramp (抽筋) .He went up and down in the water and shouted for help. Two of them tried to save him,but got drowned. At that time,a man called Li Jinlin was fishing nearby. When he heard the shout,he jumped into the water without a second thought. He tried his best and succeeded in pulling one of the three boys onto the bank. When he tried to save the second one,he ran out of energy and couldn’t go up again. Two students and he lost their lives.

    How to Keep More Food on the Table 

    It's said that in some parts of the world,people are facing the problem of hunger. So what can we do to help them? Here are some tips：

    Cook from the Fridge 

    Start with the fresh food. If you have some in the fridge,use them first. Make a meal with what you have got instead of running out to the supermarket for something else. You’ll probably save more time using what's on hand.

    Learn to Read the Labels (标签)

    “ Best-before ” and “ use-by ” dates are more important. Learn to know the different periods of food and know what foods are good for. For example,black bananas are proper for baking,fresh vegetables are good in soups,bread that is not fresh can be turned into small pieces.

    Use the Freezer (冷冻室) 

    The freezer can keep food fresh until you are ready to cook them,then store the cooked food until you’re ready to eat it. It's also the best place for the remaining food. Mark the date of the food nearby,so it's easy to find the food you need to eat first and will never leave them there for too long.

                                   

    Plan meals ahead of time so that you know exactly what to buy. Doing this helps reduce food waste because it's possible to buy too much of a certain food and then forget to eat or cook it later.
