Mr. Guo is a teacher from Xi’an. He asked his students to hand in their homework through a QR code(二维码). “We spent an hour or two in class learning how to generate(使产生)the codes, and in the end everything gets easier.” Said Guo. “When students finish the homework, they keep in on WeChat(微信). Then, each student makes his own QR code and gives it to me. So I can check their work everywhere using my computer or telephone.”

The QR codes can be sent to Mr. Guo by email, QQ and WeChat. When Guo scans(扫描)his students’ QR codes, their homework appears on his phone. He finds that their homework becomes more creative(创新的), with many pictures, music and even videos.

Guo’s students like the new way and think it is interesting. “We are living in the information age. Many students like to work with computers, which makes learning more fun.” said Tingting, a student of Guo’s.

“The paper is not easy to keep, but the code is easy to keep and share,” Guo said. “48 It is worth trying to use new technology in education. Education itself is a kind of creation. I don’t want my students to fall behind the times.”

However, some parents are worried. They are afraid that their children will spend too much time on computers and less time communicating with teachers. But in fact, it’s unnecessary. Students still need to look up information in books and write it down when they do their homework. They only use the code when they hand in their work, which doesn’t take them too much time. Also for teachers, it allows them to check the students’ work at any time. And it’s also an easy way to share homework with other students.

1.According to the passage, students can keep their homework on ______.

A. WeChat B. QQ C. email D. blog(博客)

2.Guo’s students think the new way is _______.

4.Some parents are worried, because they think their children will _______.

A. talk with teachers face to face B. spend too much time on computers or phones

C. not like the new way of handing in homework D. find the QR codes too difficult to use

5.What’s the main idea of the passage?

A. Teachers needn’t check homework any more. B. Students needn’t hand in homework any more.

C. Using QR codes makes checking homework easier. D. Some parents are worried about their children.

Movies for the Blind?

When you think of the cinema, the phrase "watching a movie" probably comes to mind, and, in fact, moviemakers work very hard to make their films interesting visually. But movies also contain stories, dialogues, music and sound effects --- things that people don't need to see in order to enjoy.

Movie reviewer Marty Klein has created a website to help visually impaired (受损的) people choose movies that they can follow without the help of an assistant to explain what is happening on the screen. Klein gives movies a rating from 1 to 10 based on several factors. A movie receives a high rating if there are only a few main characters whose voices are easy to recognize. Klein also likes an interesting story without too many changes in time and place. A large amount of dialogue between the characters is better than long silences or noisy action scenes.

Of course, visually impaired people can enjoy many films with the help from a friend who doesn’t mind explaining the parts of a movie that can only be seen. But that means that someone is talking during the movie, which could annoy some audience members. It also means that these people cannot go to the movies independently. To solve these problems, some movie theaters have begun to offer recorded audio descriptions of the movements, scenery, and special effects that other audience members can see on the screen. Visually impaired moviegoers receive a wireless headset to wear during the movie. This allows them to listen to the narration (叙述) while still hearing a movie's music and other sounds that surround them in the theater.

Another blind movie reviewer, Jay Forry, writes movie reviews that are published on his website. He also writes for newspapers and is a guest on radio shows. Forry gives movies one of five ratings, including, "So good, blind people will like it" and "I'm glad I couldn't see it." Forry became a writer after going blind at the age of 20 and he decided to go to college. His first articles appeared in the college newspaper, and Forry's writing skills and sense of humor are what keep people reading his reviews or listening to them on the radio. After "watching" The Sixth Sense, Forry commented that he thought the movie was excellent, but that he envied the boy who was the main character: "He had six senses, and I only have four."

1.Which movie might receive a good rating from Marty Klein?

A. A action film with many fight scenes.

B. A science fiction movie about time travel into the past and the future

C. A romantic comedy with four main characters and lots of conversations.

D. An adventure with many explosions and special effects.

2.According to the article, how are some movie theaters dealing with the problem of blind people going to movies?

A. They are asking the assistants not to annoy the other audience members.

B. They are providing headsets so blind people can hear a recorded narration.

C. They are providing trained employees to describe the movie to blind people.

D. They are asking blind people to enjoy the music and the other sounds in the theater.

3.What is the main idea of the article?

A. More and more blind people enjoy going to movies.

B. Marty Klein and Jay Forry write movie reviews for blind people.

C. Moviemakers are trying to make films more interesting for the blind.

D. Movie reviews and new technologies make it easier for the blind to enjoy the movies.
