Who is the greatest teacher in China’s history? You can’t think of anyone else when you hear people read his 2500 - year - old saying, “ When I walk along with two others,I may be able to learn from them. ” Confucius is one of the most important persons in the history of China. Today,people remember him,celebrate his birthday and learn from him in different ways.
The oldest Confucius temple,in Pingyao County in Shanxi Province,was open to the public after a one - year renovation (改建）project on April 26th,2004.
The main building of the temple was built in 1163,and has a history of more than 840 years. Compared with other famous Confucius temples,it was built 248 years earlier than that in Beijing,and 317 years earlier than that in Qufu,Confucius’ hometown in Shandong Province. The temple in Qufu was added to the list of the World Cultural Heritages (遗产)in 1995.
Covering a total area of 40,000 square meters,the temple in Pingyao has 112 buildings. The temple once was used as a schoolyard for Pingyao Middle School since 1949. After a new school was completed,the middle school moved out. It was reported that the project cost a total of 32 million yuan.
As everyone knows,Confucius has been regarded as a pioneer in the field of education and temples worshipping him were built everywhere in ancient China,some of which are still kept today.

In 1993 an unknown American called Clarence Nash went to see the filmmaker Walt Disney. He had an unusual voice and he wanted to work in Disney’s cartoon film for children. When Walt Disney heard Nash’s voice,he said “Stop!That’s our duck!”
The duck was the now-famous Donald Duck,who first appeared in 1934 in the firm The Wise Little Hen. Donald lived in an old houseboat (水上住家）and wore his sailor jacket and hat. Later that year he became a star after an eight-minute Mickey Mouse film. The cinema audience liked him because he was lazy and t greedy (贪婆的），and because he lost his temper (发脾气）very quickly. And they loved his voice when he became angry with Mickey’s eight nephews (侄子）. Soon Donald was more popular than Mickey Mouse himself,probably because he wasn’t a goody-goody like Mickey.
