     Is the water in the river clean now? Have you ever drunk water directly from the river?

    1 Perhaps you may have tried the water from a well (井) .However,as I know,many people drink water from a water boiler (烧水器) or drink the bottled water bought

from a shop nowadays.

   2 At that time,all the rivers around us were very clean. If you were thirsty,you could just take some water from the river with your hands and drink it directly. It was cool and sweet.In summer,when it was hot,you could swim in the river. 3 However,all these were in the past. 4 The rivers are often full of all kinds of waste. The river water has become very dirty because of the large population. 5

What a pity!I wonder when I can taste the clean and safe river water again.
