If you watch the sky about an hour after the sun sets, you may see some " moving stars”. But they're not real stars. They're man-made satellites. When humans finish the space station,it will be like a city in space. People will stay and study there witli many of the things like at home. There are many lahs for space tests. The ISS is the most expensive space station. People will spend billions of dollars on it.
Scientists hope that the ISS will be a stepping stone(跳板)for future space exploration (探索).
"The ISS will help us better understand the human body, the space and the earth. It can help make our life on earth better," said Kathryn Clark, an ISS scientist.
Sixteen countries are part of the program: the US, Russia, Canada, Japan, Brazil and 11 European countries. China is not among them, but it helped with some of the experiments. In 2003 ,China sent some rice to the ISS to find out what space would do to it.

On a fine day last month, there were many small cars parking in the People's Square. They looked more like colorful eggs than ordinary cars. The cars were electric, rolled(滚动)on two wheels instead of four and could carry only two passengers. Thanks to their small size, six of the cars would share a parking spot. If the idea of parking such a small car makes you nervous, don't worry about that. These cars can park themselves and return to the owner controlled by a cellphone.
The car is called the EN-V. It is designed by the General Motors. One day, such small, electric cars might safely carry people around, especially in crowded cities. Scientists and engineers are finding new ways to make cars safer, smarter and more efficient or use less energy. New
cars may help you keep healthy by telling you to take medicine. Cars may even talk to other cars, your computer, your phone and so on.
This is the future of cars. They are safer, smarter and more energy-conscious (节能的). They might even drive themselves down the highway or through a city. You can sit back and enjoy your journey.
