I used to work in a lab for almost 10 years. It was a well-paid job, and a “not exactly challenging(有挑战性的）but safe job”. Then everything changed in 1998 when my best friend introduced me to a man who wanted to open up a computer school.

I said yes!
I have always felt I know a better way to describe difficult concepts(概念） to listeners than a lot of other people. I’m good at explaining things when I write about it. So I took the class syllabus(教学大纲）and rewrote it MY WAY! I did all I could to make it easier to understand.
In my first class I got the familiar(熟悉的）funny looks from people when I started speaking. But after 15 minutes, people were asking smart questions that showed they understood. At the end of the class when people were leaving, they shook my hand and thanked me.
You won’t get THAT from a “ not exactly challenging but safe job”!

According to a study by NASA, the Earth’s green leaf area has increased by 5 percent, or over 5 million square kilometers since 2000. China is responsible for 25 percent of the increase. That’s about one square of the size of the whole Amazon rainforest.

It was once the source(来源) of sandstorms in Beijing. But now, about one third of the Kubuqi Desert is covered with trees, and sandstorms are less common. Mu Us Desert was also known for its sandstorms many years ago. But now, one-quarter of the desert has been turned into forest.
In a word, planting trees is really important to us. Let’s take part in planting trees to make our earth greener and more beautiful.
