【2】As a book lover, Amy spends all her free time_____(read) in the library.
【3】Because of the bad weather, he was very______(luck) to miss the early bus.
【4】The woman smiled_____(polite) as I helped her carry the heavy box.
【5】Mike has failed twice and he hopes that he will succeed the______(three) time.
【1】children
【2】reading
【3】unlucky
【4】politely
【5】third
且结合句意to miss the early bus可知,他是“不幸运的”,故应填unlucky。

Sao Paulo in Brazil is a very big city, and it’s growing fast. Every year there are more cars and motorcycles on the roads. But not enough new rules have been built. The city’s traffic has become so terrible that sometimes there are traffic jams(堵塞)100 kilometres long! Traveling across the city can take hours.
But in a helicopter(直升飞机), it can take just a few minutes. There are now about 500 helicopters in the city, and they can be seen- and heard- flying at all times of the day and night. Sao Paulo has become famous for having so many helicopters.
Tiago Gomez is a Sao Paulo businessman who often uses helicopters to travel around the city. “I use a helicopter taxi almost every day,” he says. “A pilot flies me tomy business meetings and at the end of the day he takes me back to my home outside the city. People sometimes tell me it’s a waste of money, but I’m a busy man. I can’t wait in traffic jams for hours. Time is money. So for me, helicopters are great.”
But many people don’t agree. Professor Catarina Ferreira is a transportation expert who has studied the city’s traffic problems. “I understand why wealthy people use helicopters,” says Ferreira, “but it’s not good for the city. They’re noisy and they’re bad for the environment. Also, we really need to do something about Sao Paulo’s traffic problems. But that isn’t going to happen if all the wealthy, important people just fly over the streets and pay no attention to the problems below them.”
【1】The traffic problems are very serious in Sao Paulo.
【2】Helicopters can be used only in the daytime in Sao Paulo.
【3】Tiago Gomez would rather spend lots of money on the helicopter than wait in traffic jams.
【4】Helicopters are harmful to the city and they cause lots of pollution.
【5】Sao Paulo’s traffic problems are easy to solve as long as transportation experts do enough research.
