I used to hate reading books before I was in Grade Six. I thought it was boring. But our Chinese teacher Mrs. Liu did something that made a big difference to my life. She opened the world of books for me.

I’ll never forget the first day of Grade Six when Mrs. Liu took out a thick book and began to read a story to our class. Her voice seemed to change with the characters in the story, and she drew pictures in my mind as she read aloud. Since that day, I couldn t wait until after lunch when she would read to our class.

Now. I love to read. I have read fifty books so far.
