In the summer of 2017, 13-year-old Myles Harris took a Boy Scout（童子军）class in water safety and life-saving skills. He didn't know how important that class would become until July 5,2018. On that day, his mother nearly drowned, but Myles saved her life.

After seeing that she was unconscious, he quickly pulled her back to the family's boat and called for help. Then a lifeguard came to help him and took his mother to the hospital.
After her son won the award, Karmen thanked her son, as well as the Boy Scouts. In their rescue class, students not only learn how to save a drowning victim, but also how to prevent themselves from being accidentally pulled underwater by a victim.
