They make people scream in fear,yet people pay for a chance to ride them. What are they? They are roller coasters,of course.
Hundreds of roller coasters make people excited at theme parks around the country. The first roller coaster in the United States was a train. People built it in 1800 in order to carry coal (煤) down a mountain. When it was no longer used as a coal train,it began a new life as an amusement (娱乐) ride.
