34.A.how B.what C.where D.when
35.A.So B.And C.But D.As
36.A.telephoned B.replied C.found D.talked

38.A.with B.on C.to D.at
39.A.Hardly B.Happily C.Luckily D.Carefully
40.A.a boy B.doctors C.the police D.email
how表示“怎么样”;where指“地点”;when用来指“时间”。
get in touch with sb.
由she was still alive可以推断出此处指的是“幸运地”。

They use Chinese, English, numbers and pictures. Sometimes I asked her, ‘Do your friends know the meaning of them?’ She said, ‘Yes, they do. Many of my friends talk with the language.
