A brave boy?Fred began to go to school two years ago. But he's still in Grade One. He's the tallest and strongest boy in his class. He doesn't listen to the teachers in class and often fights(打架) with the children. His teachers and classmates don't like him. His parents know him well, but they don't know what to do.
It was a quarter past seven. The supper was ready but Fred didn't come back. His mother stood at the gate and looked. And ten minutes later she saw her son, all in black and blue(浑身青一块，紫一块).
“Were you in another fight?” asked the woman.
“No, mommy,” answered the boy. “I was just keeping a bigger boy from beating up(阻止一个大一些的男孩殴打) a smaller one!”

When I was seven years old, my family made me an ant farm. First , we put clean sand in a thin glass box. Then we waited for the ants to arrive.
After the ants were in the glass farm, they started to make tunnels(隧道). I was amazed that each one knew exactly what to do. Each had its own job.
On the fifth day a tragedy happened. I put my face so close to the glass farm that I knocked it over.

Over the years, I came to realize the importance of teamwork . Working together , the ants were able to make an amazing world for themselves . I also learned that they should be admired for their hard word.
But there was an even larger lesson that I did not realize until recently: adversity is a natural part of life , and must be accepted . Unlike the ants ,we cannot give up when we are sad . We have to realize that if a tunnel is gone , we must building another .
Giving up , I say , is not a good choice.

I went up to the stage and read what I had written，“My father’s son”．When I finished，Dad put his hand on my shoulder．“Son，this is the proudest moment of my life.’’
It was the proudest moment of my life, too. Maybe I’ll never be a great hero or win a Nobel Prize, but it was enough just to be my father’s son.
