Should we help strangers? When asked this question, some answered, "Sorry, I don't know." Others said, "It all depends on the situation." Still others replied, "No, I'm not willing to do so." How does it happen that so many people refused to help strangers? This is because nowadays there are a lot of problems in the society, such as cheating, robbing (抢劫), blackmailing (敲诈) and so on. As a result, many people are afraid to trust strangers any longer and stay away from them. I think this is why my parents always warn me never talk to strangers.
However, refusing to offer help to strangers will do harm (危害) to both our society and ourselves. Actually, not all the strangers are bad people, We should ask our own conscience (良心) and try to give them a hand when they are badly in need of help. Just as an old saying goes, "A near neighbor is better than a distant relative." In fact, helping each other is an ideal way to build up a good relationship with others, which is good for ourselves.
In a word, we should be warmhearted and try our best to identify (识别) the good and the bad. Only in this way can we help those who are really in need of help to build up a harmonious (和谐的)society.
