You must be excited about coming to China soon. Let me give you some suggestions and advice about Chinese customs. When you meet somebody for the first time in China, you should shake hands and say, “How do you do?” You don’t need to bow or kiss the side of the face. When you are eating at the table, it’s impolite to stick your chopsticks into the food. You are not supposed to point others with your chopsticks. You’d better not speak with your mouth full. In our house, you’re supposed to take off your shoes before entering the house. It’s impolite to show up at someone’s house for the first time with empty hands.
