Mike liked traveling very much. He traveled in the country in his car last Sunday evening. It was
seven thirty in the evening. He drove along the street and looked for a small hotel. Then he saw an old
man standing by the street. He stopped and asked the old man, “Excuse me. Where is the nearest
hotel? ”
“Oh, yes,” said the old man,“I can show you the way.” He got into Mike’s car and they drove off(走开). They drove about twelve miles. When they came to a small house, the old man said,“Stop here.”
Mike stopped and looked at the small house.“But where is the hotel?” he said to the old man.
The old man got off the car and said.“This is my house. Now, go back nine miles, and you can find a
hotel on your left.”
