In recent（近来的）years, many students from China come to the UK to study in schools there. Over 4,000 new students came in 2018. Most of them decide to study in a UK university(大学) after studying in middle schools in the UK. It can help them make their written and spoken English better, find out more about a different culture and to know very different ways of teaching.

Studying in the UK will be a special and interesting thing. Unlike China, the UK isn’t a large country. Its furthest mainland points are only 1,350 km away. We can visit many great cities in a short time, such as London, Cambridge and Oxford.

Life for a student studying in the UK can be very exciting. Children start school at the age of 4. At 11, children go to middle schools where they may study 10 subjects. They are math, science, English, history and one or more languages （语言） such as French and so on. Classes in the UK schools often have between 20 or 30 students. Most schools do not make students sit in the same seat for every lesson.

Children do not just learn from books or a screen, but enjoy various sports as part of their school day, such as soccer, basketball, horse-riding and so on. They can join clubs after school.
