A farmer went to town to sell his vegetablesBut it was snowing that afternoon and there were few people in the streetWhen his vegetables were sold out,it was darkOn his way home he saw a person lying on the snowHe placed his baskets on the ground and was going to help the person get upAt that time he found that it was a dead man and there was much blood on the groundHe was so frightened that he ran away quickly,without taking his baskets away
The next morning,the farmer was sent to the police stationHaving shown the baskets an officer asked,Are these yours?
Yes,sirthe farmer answered in a trembling voice
When did you see the dead man?
At about seven last night
Did you see who killed the man?
No,sir
That afternoon the officer went on tryingPointing to the knife the officer asked again,Have you seen it yet?
Yes,sirIt was here and I saw it this morning
