Last week, my father and I went fishing. He handed me the rod ( 鱼 竿 ), held my arms and taught me how to throw my line into the water. The sun warmed us. We sat and talked. “I remember when I could sit here and watch the fish swimming in the water,” he said. “Sometimes, they’d jump out and land beside me.
