The other day, I take part in the National English Debating Competition. I have a lot to share with you. At first, I feel really delighted what I’ve won the first prize in the competition, which makes me understood the true meaning of the proverb ＂no pains, no gains.＂ Furthermore, in the five-days competition, I established a closely friendship with students from all over the country, from who I’ve learned a great deal. More importantly, taking this competition have enabled me overcome my fear of speaking in the public, thus developing my self-confidence. Additionally, I owe many thanks for my teacher and the judges, without whose help, I couldn’t have done such an excellent job.

Li Hua is an English learner who want to improve his reading skills, and he rarely practices. Yesterday he came and asked us for advices. ＂Any good athlete,＂ I said, ＂who will tell you he practices hardly to get in shape and achieve high honors.
