Recently a university in China carried out a survey about “Whether we should help old people get up when they fall down” among their students.

The survey shows that 78.8% of the students offered a positive answer. They think helping others, especially those who are in trouble, is Chinese traditional virtue. 21.2%% of them are unwilling to help those old people who fall down. Some think because they lack medical knowledge, they can’t give those old people help, or that can even cause further injuries. The others are afraid of extra trouble. For example they are afraid they are cheated.

In my opinion, we should make every effort to help old people when they fall down. It’s our responsibility to help others, especially old people and children when they need help. If we lack medical knowledge, we should help them call their family or call 120.
