People who support the idea think that traditional Chinese characters look very beautiful, and contain valuable Chinese culture. Also, they think that traditional Chinese characters are easy to recognize and learn. In their opinion, simplified Chinese characters are a kind of regress.

On the other hand, those against the idea think that traditional Chinese characters are very hard to write and that simplified Chinese characters represent progress as they meet the needs of the fast-paced lifestyles of modern society.

As far as I’m concerned, it is a tendency for languages to become simpler. However, it is also necessary to keep our excellent Chinese culture.
