    13．Last night，I had a dream about Sherlock Holmes．I dreamed that someone was sending strange pictures to my phone．I grew scared and called my friend：Sherlock．He agreed to take the case，but when I called him again，his number was no longer in service．My wild imagination aside，I think my dream reflects the attractiveness of Sherlock Holmes．To put it quite simply，I am one of many crazy number of Sherlock
    fans．So why has Sherlock，one of the best fictional characters ever created in literature，been popular for a century？Just like a real detective，I have come up with a number of theories．
    Firstly，Sherlock is smart．Just plain smart．Benedict Cumberbatch，the actor who plays Sherlock in the television series，brilliantly flies through those complicated explanations，never failing to impress the audience．I think most people enjoyed being shocked by Sherlock's impossible degree of intelligence that none of us can ever imagine possessing； in a way，it's almost a magical quality itself．I have yet to find a
    modern-day Sherlock．
    Secondly，there's something a little off about Sherlock．People have suggested that he has a mild case of autism，which explains his coldness and sometimes rudeness to others．In my opinion，he just doesn't care．If his analyses embarrass you，then so be it．
    His mental capacity （容量） is large，but he refuses to fill it with anything useless．Although we would never want to be embarrassed by Sherlock in real life，we can'thelp but be entertained when he does it to other people．
    Lastly，the very concept of mystery itself draws people in．Sir Arthur Conan Doyle，creator of Sherlock Holmes，never offers enough clues（线索） for the reader to solve the mystery himself，but offers enough to make the reader guess．Obviously，the mystery is Sherlock．If the reader was smart enough to solve the mystery，Sherlock's talent would immediately be destroyed．That's why John Watson，who is smarter than most common people，will always remain Sherlock's bumbling（笨手笨脚的） companion．
    So，students，kids，everyone-pick up a Sherlock Holmes book or get to know him on screen．I promise you，involving yourself in Sherlock's world will never fail to impress．
