As it is a formal party, you had better dress smartly. You should arrive on time with some small gifts such as a bottle of wine, a box of chocolate or just a bunch of flowers. At dinner, do remember to mind your manners. Please don’t drink too much and don’t speak loudly. After the dinner，out of politeness, you should stay for a while to chat with other guests and the host, but don’t overstay your welcome. One or two days later, it would be better to write a letter of thanks to the host to express your gratitude to their hospitality (好客).
