答案:1.B;2.C;3.A;4.D;5.B;6.A;7.C;8.D;9.B;10.A;11.C;12.D;13.C;14.A;15.B;16.D;17.C;18.A;19.B;20.D;
解析:

(1)

(3)

由后文John will become a king可知,他们“坚持要(insisted on)”知道自己的未来。

(4)

Death in the murderer’s hand是提示。

(5)

(6)

由前面的spending his time in spiritual activities可以推断,此处说的是Tony“为别人服务(serve everyone)”。

(7)

Tony以积极的心态面对命运很快就不消沉了(came out of his depression)”

(8)

(18)

后文的Death in the murderer’s hand was reduced to… be reduced to…变成……

(19)
