A
Have you visited an ancient, aristocratic (贵族气派的) ,and quiet place? Well, this is Vicenza whose streets aren’t wide, with a number of beautiful Renaissance (文艺复兴时期) buildings, and a wonderful square that is the heart of the city: Piazza dei Signori.
Everybody knows Venice,Rome, and Florence, but only a few people know that Vicenza has to be taken into special consideration for its important historical buildings, mostly designed by Andrea Palladio who was born in Vicenza (1508—1580) .
It was during the Renaissance and the following four hundred years in which Vicenza was under the protection of the Republic of Venice that the great buildings were built, making Vicenza famous throughout Europe and giving it the great appearance which it keeps today.
Besides its historical district, around Vicenza are beautiful hills and the countryside where you can spend time walking, sightseeing, and having delicious meals in many restaurants which serve typical foods and good wine. What's more,in Vicenza's countryside there’re great villas (别墅) which are worth visiting. This is where the most local people used to spend their summers farming their lands during the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries.
Vicenza greatly attracted people interested in art and historical works. Besides having fun thereVe classical and jazz music concerts and theatre performances, mostly during the autumn.
It may be that young people feel Vicenza isn’t a place where they can have fun,but there's also a place where modern music is performed,so they can have a good time there, too. I invite young people and everyone to come to Vicenza to get to know it. They should visit it in order to know, see, and touch it and its beauty.

B
I helped a friend in need last week. I helped her by explaining something we don't learn in school, but something we learn after years of experience.
When she came to see me,my friend was visibly upset about having to ask for help. I,on the other hand, was honoured that such an intelligent young lady would ask me for my opinion and help. Telling her how much I appreciated her confidence in me did not seem to make her feel better at all.
I was struck at the irony (讽刺) of the situation. This lady is one of the most giving people I know. She never hesitate (犹豫) to help others, but clearly having to ask someone else to help her makes her very uncomfortable.
Why? Why is asking for help so difficult? Why are we so gracious about offering help to others, but not about giving someone else the opportunity to help us?
I did a little soul searching after this experience and realised that most of my success has come from others helping me when I needed it. Sure, being hardworking, stubborn and occasionally smart has something to do with it,but the fact is that I could not have made it this far without some serious help from others.
Today,I am just as likely to ask for help as I am to give help. Both make me feel good. It's rewarding to help others and I want to grab every chance I can to do that. And unlike in my younger days,I am more at ease in asking for help. I know it makes others feel good and I get new insight into whatever challenge I'm struggling with.
I hope my friend continues to become more comfortable at asking for help and to give help every chance she gets.
