Learning English or Not

Nowadays nearly all the schools and universities are strengthening English teaching and learning, there are two different opinions on this. Some people think it is necessary to do this in order to meet the needs of China’s reform and opening up and the international developing trend.

While on the other hand, some people think it’s not necessary to learn English because English is only learnt for passing examinations. Most people don’t use English at all after they graduate.

In my opinion, we must strengthen English teaching. First, we can communicate with foreigners more easily if we learn English well. Second, only through English can we get a chance to learn the advanced science and technology from foreign countries.
