Yesterday we had a discussion about whether music should be played during the class break or not. Towards this, most of the students think that music should be played for it can produce a better efficiency and greater relaxation as well as a lively and happy atmosphere. However, some believe they can't get the expected effect from playing music, for the class break time is short. What is needed most during the class break is peace rather than the noise produced by music. After a heated discussion, we finally reached an agreement that it' s better to play soft music, which is suitable for our middle school students as well.

Dear Sally£¬

Now I¡¯d like to tell you something about my part-time job this summer vacation, of which I worked like a guide in a travel agency. The work was interesting but tired. I think it was helpful to work this holiday. It was the first time that I have earned money on my own. I¡¯ve come to understand how hard my parents work to support for the family. I used to keep on ask them for money, but now I¡¯ll never waste money and learn to share worry to my parents. I¡¯ve learnt how to get along well with others. What¡¯s worse, I¡¯ve gained some working and social experience and I have learnt something can¡¯t be learnt from textbooks. All these will be good for my future. In the word, I had a wonderful and valuable summer vacation.

Some students think that hiking during vacation can make people to feel healthier, fresher and more harmonious with nature. They find themselves deep attracted by the beauty of nature. They can also be relaxing walking in deep mountains. But nowadays some hikers even begin to explore the places people have never been to, and accidents have been happened now and then because poor knowledge of hiking. Some hikers even lost their life. The other students in our class think it not safe to organize so dangerous activities. Yesterday was my 18th birthday. As Father and Mother thought it was a big occasion for me£¬they suggested I ¡¾1¡¿ (hold) a birthday party at home to celebrate it. For several days they had been busy ¡¾2¡¿ (prepare) for this. By 4 o¡¯clock I was pleased to see all my friends had come ¡¾3¡¿ a lot of beautiful presents. Mother cooked us a big meal.

We ¡¾4¡¿ (spend) a wonderful night together, eating and talking ¡¾5¡¿ (happy). The most exciting moment was when Mother put a big birthday cake on the table and all my friends began to sing Happy Birthday. Seeing the 18 candles burning, I couldn¡¯t keep back my tears. ¡¾6¡¿ mother and father¡¯s love, I would not lead such a happy life now. Mother asked me to make a wish ¡¾7¡¿ I blew out all the candles. After that£¬everyone enjoyed the sweet birthday cake and shared my happiness.

I am eighteen years old now, ¡¾8¡¿ means I¡¯ve become an adult and have more ¡¾9¡¿_ (responsibility). I¡¯ll do ¡¾10¡¿ (me) best to return my parents¡¯ love and live up to their expectations.

However, anyone can become a better student if he or she wants to. Here is how£ºPlan your time carefully. When planning your work, you should make a list of things that you have to do. After making this list. you should make a schedule of your time. First your time for eating, sleeping, dressing, etc. Then decide a good, regular time for studying. ¡¾2¡¿ A weekly schedule may not solve all your problems, but it will force you realize what is happening to your time.Find a good place to study. Look around the house for a good study area. Keep this space, which may be a desk or simply a corner of your room, free of eeverything but study materials. No games, radios, or television. When you sit down to study, concentrate on the subject.Make good use of your time in class. ¡¾3¡¿ Listening carefully in class means less work later. Taking notes will help you remember what the teacher says.Study regularly. When you get home from school, go over your notes, review the important points that your teacher is going to discuss the next day, read that material. ¡¾4¡¿ If you do these things regularly, the material will become more meaningful, and you¡¯ll remember it longer.Develop a good attitude towards tests. A. This will help you understand the next class.

B. No one can become a top student unless he or she works hard.

C. Don¡¯t forget to set aside enough time for entertainment.

D. Take advantage of class time to listen to everything the teacher says.

E. Maybe you are an average student.

F. There are other methods that might help you with your studying.

G. Make full use of class time to take notes of what the teacher says in class.
