one day, Wang Gang, a PLA man, was on the train back home when he learnt form a newspaper that the Changjiang River was in danger and the floods were washing away so many houses and crops. Outside the window of the train, he found villagers running towards the river with tools and bags on their shoulders. Without hesitation, he got off the train and joined the people in the fighting against the floods. He jumped into the water and stood in it for hours protecting the bank from being destroyed.
After hours of fighting, the floods were stopped at last. One of the villagers went up to ask him his name, but he refused to tell, saying goodbye, instead, Wang Gang went on his way, not towards his home but his units.
