5.More Chinese Cities Encourage 2.5-day Weekend
Weekends don't start until Saturday,but for many (61)employees (employee) it starts from Friday-though (62)they are physically present in their offices,(63)mentally (mental) they're already in a weekend state of mind.Some Chinese cities are now turning this into reality,(64)extending (extend) weekend holidays to two-and-a-half days,which means a half work-day on Fridays.
Cities in northern China's Jinzhong in Shanxi Province and eastern China's Ji'an in Jiangxi Province officially (65)introduced (introduce) this new system today.But(66)for now,the rules are only applicable to people working in public institutions.(67)To ensure (ensure) work efficiency,both cities have regulated some(68)additional (addition) rules.For example,in Jinzhong,the (69)lost (lose) hours have to be made up by working extra hours during weekdays.
The proposal was introduced last August (70)by the State Council in order to boost tourism and consumption for a better economy.

But
To ensure

15.To some,it's a dream job---eating delicious meals for free and then writing about them. But for some food critics, their eyes aren't the only thing that gets wide with yet another feast.
Karen Fernau,a food writer for The Arisona Republic, said when she first started her job-she began to gain weight."I always looked forward to lunch before this job, then all of a sudden lunch was all day every day."she says.Nine years later, keeping her weight steady and her health intact (完好无损的)is a daily battle. If she knows she will be going to a tasting at a bakery or eating a four-course meal, she usually eats fruits or salads throughout the day.Now she is always keeping track of what's in the food she eats and she says most people don't even look at or consider it.At one tasting task alone, she says, upward of l,000 calories is often added to her day. That's about half of the recommended total  calories  per day for the average adult.
But even though she's thought of a special eating method,Fernau says sticking to it is a daily battle. And food editors, writers and critics across the country couldn't agree more."When I'm at home or not eating for work,it's healthy food to the extreme,"says Phil Vettel, who's been a restaurant critic for the Chicago Tribune for 19 years.
Vettle, who eats dinner at four restaurants each week, says unlike most professions,he has no ight to choose."If I'm going out to eat,I can't choose the healthiest thing on the menu,I have to eat when they're bringing me."While Vettel exercises when he can,Joe Yonan,a food editor at The Washington Post, has strengthened his exercise habits since he started the job two years ago.Yonan says he realized early on that he was gaining weight and immediately hired a personal trainer to meet with three times a week,on top of his body training three to five times a week.

16.For most people,Christmas is a time to relax in the company of family and friends.But for Santa Claus,and the thousands of fake Santas who impersonate(模仿) him every year,the Christmas season is time to get to work.
Although  Santa Claus waits until Christmas Eve to take his famous sleigh (雪橇) ride,Santa impersonators can be found at shopping malls around America throughout the six weeks leading up to December 25."When you see Santa talking with kids at your local mall,that's when you know Christmas really is on the way,"says Mary Lewine of New York City.
With the excitement of Christmas,people often forget about the real people behind the red robes (长袍)and white beards,but being a mall Santa.is a tough job."There is more to it than just sitting in a chair.There is more to it than just a red suit,"said Timothy Connaghan,who has worked as a Santa for.38years."Children
can really put the wear and tear on you."
A recent survey showed some of the challenges that mall Santas face every year.About 90percent of Santas claimed that children pulled their beards to see if they were real,and 60percent said that up to ten kids cough or sneeze on them every day.Even more disturbing,one-third of the Santas admit to having children wet themselves while sitting on their laps.
So why would anyone take this job? For Ben Brauch,a retired high school teacher who has worked as a Santa for the last six years,the answer is simple-the children."I see maybe 12,000kids in a six-week period.
It's hard work, but it's worth it because you get to play with kids."In fact,Brauch loves his job so much that he keeps his white beard long all year.
25.According to Timothy Connaghan,we can conclude thatB

A.Because he can keep his white beard long all year..
B.Because he   as nothing else to do after retiring.
