    18．Football，to me，is more than just a game．I have probably learned more than valuable lessons from it than from school．
    When I joined the team freshman year，I didn't realize what I was getting into．Even though I had been playing since fourth grade and knew it was hard work，nothing would prepare me for the effort I would put into football that year．We worked all summer in the weight room and ran on the track to get in physical and mental shape before the season．
    See，football is more of a mental sport than anything else，so running on the track wasn't only about getting in shape．We would push our minds by running as hard as we could even if we felt like we were going to pass out．At the beginning，I was immature（幼稚的）and only thought of myself，sometimes even giving up when I was tired or hurting．Then after the third game I had a season-ending injury．Imagine working all summer and then only being able to play three games!I needed an operation on my arm and at least five months to recover．
    After freshman year I decided that I would always give my best effort．Playing football in the college has taught me so much more than just what my tasks are on a particular play or how to block．I have learned to think about others first，and realized how important working hard is．Being with all my friends，even sweating and bleeding with them，really made us unite as a group of hard-working young men，who will succeed in life．

    For many，the way he described China's health was no surprise．The country's economy has not been growing this slowly since the 1990s．Companies in debt are seeing sickly profit margins．Banks are carrying loads of debt，too，and the housing market is slowing．China's official 2015GDP growth target is 7%，but that seems shaky．
    Acknowledging that significant intervention has to be on the table is a big deal for China．Everyone has known for years that this slowdown was coming because the government is purposely transitioning its economy from one based on foreign investment to one based on domestic consumption．It is a brutal process，but the government knows it is the only way the country will become the self-sustaining superpower it wants to be．
    （Barlcays）Until now，while the Chinese government had acknowledged the slowdown was rough，it had assured the world that the situation was under control．Just a few weeks ago，Chinese officials were saying they would be monitoring deflation but still were not that keen on intervening with policy measures．
    Now it seems they are warming to the idea．In January，China's headline consumer price inflation hit 0.8%，then it bounced back up to 1.4% in February．March probably isn't looking that great either from the People's Bank of China's point．

    Tucked away in an industrial park in Tempe，Rio Salado didn't look much like a traditional institute of higher education．There were no students running to class．Just a couple of glass-faced office buildings．The college had just 22full-time faculty serving 60，000students，with more than half of them attending classes online．
    Several students I met during my visit said they liked learning online．"I've taken college classes in a big auditorium with herds of people．There was no personal connection，"one student said．"Now I can reach my teacher with the click of a mouse．"
