With the development of the economy, more families have bought private cars, thus leading to
heavier traffic problems and more serious air pollution. To raise public awareness of energy saving
and environmental protection, Carfree Day is launched in 108 cities in China on September 22 every
year. On that day, people are encouraged to take public transport, ride bicycles or walk. The campaign
has gained much support all over the country, which is a real success. I hope more cities and their
residents will take part in this type of activity.

I once met a middle-aged stranger who said his money had been stolen at the railway station£¬so he had no money to go home. He begged for help from passers-by£¬but they all pretended not to have heard what he was saying and went by quickly. Then he stopped me and wanted me to give him the help. At first I could not accept that because I didn't think he was telling the truth. But when I saw tears in his eyes£¬I began to believe that he might be in the real trouble£¬so£¬just immediately I gave him all the money I had. When he took the money£¬ his face turned red. Before he left£¬he expressed his great thanks and also said he would give back my money when he reached home.
When I came back to school and told my classmates about my story£¬they held different opinions. Some of them thought that I did a good deed to have given a hand to the person in trouble£¬while others said that I was cheated. Some even laughed at me and called me a fool who could not judge things in the right way. Now£¬I am really confused£¡

Let¡¯s face it. You are constantly exposed to common uses. There is nothing you can do about them. However, you can greatly influence the effect of those viruses on your health. Don¡¯t accept that the flu or common cold is something you have to suffer from time to time. Stop this thought and keep yourself and your entire family healthy regardless of the weather or season. These 4 easy tips will help you to reduce the number of times you are down with the flu or common cold.

1. Eat plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables daily.

They will provide you with important nutrients, mainly vitamins, which are needed to increase

your ability to win the fight against common viruses.

2. Drink plenty of water.

The water runs through your body, removing everything your body wants to get rid of. Stop drinking water 30 minutes before a meal and wait for 2 hours after a meal. This will prevent the water from diluting your digestive juices.

3. Sleep more than 8 hours per night.

If you often fail to have enough sleep, not only will you feel tired, but also your immune system will work less efficiently. You will be more easily affected by viruses.

4. Think positively and keep an optimistic view on your life situations.

Your mind and your immune system talk with each other. Your encouraging thoughts will bring the best out from your immune system. Keep always in mind that your reaction to the first sign of the flu or common cold should be something like: I am sure my immune system will easily win the fight against those viruses. I am going to stay healthy!

The U. N. Climate Change conference opened in Copenhagen, Denmark on Dec.7th with some
15,000 delegates and observers from nearly 200 countries attending what is called the last best chance
for an agreement to combat global warming.
Most scientists believe the warming trend is mainly caused by human activity, especially the use of
fossil fuels (»¯Ê¯È¼ÁÏ) and the cutting down of forests. In Copenhagen, experts and officials alike are
putting the emphasis on what people and governments can do to cut the emission (ÅÅ·Å) of greenhouse
gasses. Scientists say a 25 to 40 percent cut in carbondioxide emissions is needed to control global
warming.
A youthful online group that calls itself the "LowCarbon Tribe"  is leading the way to an ecofriendly
lifestyle. Tribe members, who range in age from 20 to 40, say they are trying to reduce carbon dioxide
emissions in a relaxed and fashionable way. Helping save the planet is part of their daily routine, they
claim, citing the way they dress, what they eat and how they travel.
