BEIJING—Set off by the April 1 Sino-US plane collision and US official agreement of the biggest arms sale to Taiwan in a decade as well as remarks by US President Bush on defending Taiwan , there have been increasing hacker(黑客) attacks on websites of the two countries in the past weeks.
An American group of hackers which calls itself Poizon Box had begun ruining Chinese websites after the April 1 spy plane incident, top Chinese portal sina. com. said. The Chinese soon attacked back.
On April 29, Chinese hackers invaded two US Government websites over the weekend, forcing the Department of Labor and the Department of Health and Human Service to shut down their sites for a short time.
The US Department of Labor went offline for a few hours after a page in its website was changed to display a picture of Wang Wei, the Chinese pilot who died in the collision.
The page was titled “China hack!” and read, in English, “The whole country is sorry for losing the best son of China—Wang Wei forever. We still miss you until the end of day. ”
On May 1, hackers exchanged bad remarks in which the official White House website was defaced by a huge amount of e-mail garbage. On May 5, the White House website fell victim(受害者) to a denial of service attack that block access(通道) to the site for more than two hours.
The Computer Network and Information Security Management Office told web operators an average of 100 sites a day had seen “some more form of attack” .

She was a lovely and pretty girl but now Liu Siying's seriously burnt face and hands tell people that she might never be happy again. On January 23, 2001, the 12-year-old fifth-grade primary school pupil from Central China's Henan Province was taken by her mother to Bei-jing's Tian' anmen Square, believing she would enter“Falun World”. There the two set themselves on fire. She said she was told,“the flames Can't hurt you. They will only pass through your body and you will reach heaven in the twinkling of an eye. It's a wonderful world. You could become a religious queen and many people will serve you.”She said her mother and other Falun Gong practitioners said this to encourage her to set herself on fire. However, the flames changed everything. The pain and fear made the young girl cry out for help. She was rescued by the police and sent to Jishuitan Hospital, China's leading hospital for treating burnt patients.
The hospital found the girl had burns to 40 percent of her body and burns to her face. A healthy girl has been physically damaged for life. Siying had been a well-behaved girl. Her mother told her to practise Falun Gong last March and she became acquainted(熟悉) with a number of Falun Gong practitioners. The followers often praised her for being clever and said that she could become a“religious queen”in heaven. Doctors at the hospital said it was only after 16 hours at the hospital that the shock caused by the burns was controlled. Her head was bandaged and she was given a skin-transplant operation on her left hand.
The girl said she set herself on fire because she was“going to heaven”. She said she no longer believed in Falun Gong and that she had been fooled.
Scores of days later, she died in the hospital.
