    Forest Fire in the Northeast

         On October 23rd, 2006, a fire broke out in a forest in the northeast of our country. It was caused by a few tourists who had had a picnic in the forest. Tens of thousands of firefighters, soldiers and local people fought bravely against the fire until it was completely put out. The fire lasted more than a week, causing a loss of at least 200,000,000 yuan. Two people were killed in the fire and tens of people were injured . The leaders of the central government are much concerned about the fire. The local government is thinking about the lesson they have got from the fire and further measures will be taken to avoid things like this.
