Do you want to sleep soundly each night and wake up energized the next day?
Exercise early.
Morning fitness class(健身班) or gym time before work? Go ahead, give it a try. 1.________ While experts aren’t exactly sure why, it could have something to do with morning exercise’s ability to help regulate the secretion(分泌物) of certain hormones(荷尔蒙) involved in blood pressure management, which may lead to better sleep.

If your stomach starts rumbling(发出咕噜声) before bed, try reaching for good-for-you foods that actually promote sleep, like walnuts, tart cherries, or Greek yogurt instead. 2._________ Eating too much of anything within a few hours of going to bed could suppress(抑制) your body’s ability to produce sleep-promoting melatonin.

Consistency(一致性) is key to healthy sleep. Though for some it’s usual to stay up late, then get up early for work and sleep late on the weekends, doing so can cause damage to your body’s internal clock. B. Find ways to deal with stress.
C. Go to bed at the same time every night.

My parents knew their wealth: each other, their six children, and their faith. They tried to live simple lives so that they could have time for what was most important.
They didn’t busy themselves buying a bigger house, because that would mean working harder to pay the monthly mortgage(按揭贷款), working overtime or taking a second job. Who would go running with me then? Who would read stories to me?
They didn’t burden themselves with buying an expensive car because that would mean worrying about installment(分期付款) bills. Besides, walking to the shopping centre every Saturday afternoon with me gave my dad his needed exercise, and made me feel so special.
One of my heart’s delights was seeing Dad and Mom in their bedroom at night, after our nightly family prayer. The lights were turned off, and I’d see the figure of my father seated on his old chair and Mom standing behind him, gently massaging his shoulders. I’d hear them talk about what happened during their day. Even as a child, I sensed their quiet pleasure in being together.
My question today: Could they have done this rich practice each night and nourished(滋润) their marriage if they had been busy paying for expensive clothes for themselves or their kids, or if they had been worrying about monthly bills for new hi-tech equipment? I don’t think so. And I’ve made a choice: I don’t want that of life either.
1.Which of the following is TRUE about the author’s family?
A. There were six people in the family.
B. They decided to buy a bigger house.
C. They lived an easy and happy life.
D. They had a second-hand car.
2.What did the parents regularly do with the author?
A. They wrote stories together.
B. They read newspapers together.
C. They went shopping together each day.
D. They regularly took exercise together.
3.The author believed that his/her parents’ happiness was because of_______.
A. their attitude towards life
B. their love for each other
C. Their common interests
D. their ability to communicate with each other
4.It can be inferred from the last paragraph that the author __________.
A. got bored with his/her parents’ way of educating kids
B. was influenced by his/her parents’ lifestyle
C. didn’t want to follow his/her parents’ advice
D. didn’t want to live the same life as his/her parents

Well, more and more companies are beginning to create products and services for teenagers. The Disney Company sells the Hannah Montans television show, music, film and merchandise(商品) to teenagers and their parents. You can get everything from branded lunchboxes and mobile phone covers, to monthly fan magazines and clothing. The High School Musical series of films is also intended for a teenage audience. So, it’s all about sales, which tells us teenagers must have more money, freedom and influence upon their parents than they’ve ever had before.
UK teenagers never used to be worried about spending money on clothes and fashion accessories(附加物). That’s changed. Now, they are much more fashion conscious and concerned about their image. In a world of television programmes that promise overnight success and fame at a young age (for example, the shows Britain’s Got Talent and American Idol), some people think it’s extremely important to look fashionable.
So what does teenage fashion look like? Well, it’s quite horrible really, but then I’m a bit too old to appreciate it, I suppose. It’s lots of brightly coloured materials, particularly pink, and usually plain, not patterned. There are plenty of bows, necklaces and bracelets(手镯), too. It’s all very cute(可爱的), if that’s your taste.
Surely none of the above is a good thing, is it? Can it really be healthy for us to encourage kids to be like adults at such a young age? Are we stealing childhoods in return for a bit of profit? Well, the UK government is certainly concerned, and for that reason has strict laws preventing companies from explicitly(明确地) marketing their products and services at children.
Even the rest of UK society is concerned. Now that people are aware of the problem, there is a popular backlash(强烈反应) against the exploitation(利用) of children by commercial marketing.
1.It can be inferred from the passage that the teenagers nowadays .
A. often ask their parents to buy things for them
B. always have more than enough money on their clothes
C. can’t enjoy their childhood though they are rich in material
D. are satisfied with their material life and worry about nothing
2.The author of the passage .
A. supports teenage fashion quite a lot
B. is fond of brightly colored materials that are to his taste
C. thinks it illegal to make profits by selling things to kids
D. is strongly against marketing products and services at children
3. The passage is mainly about .
A. British teenagers who are interested in fashions
B.UK companies targeting products at children
C. a social problem concerning teenagers in the UK
D. products that aim at young people in England
