Last month the Students’ Union of our school organize an English Speech Competition. At first I didn’t show some interest and wasn’t very much confident. Then my English teacher Mr Smith encouraged me. Inspiring by my teacher, I signed up for the competition and made fully preparations for it. Two weeks later the time I had been looking forward to coming and it was his turn. Glancing at my teacher’s smiling face, I built up my confidence and I was one of the winner.
But my teacher’s encouragement, I couldn’t have won the first prize. I’m proud of Mr Smith or the wonderful experience.
【1】organize →organized
【2】some →any
【3】去掉much
【4】Inspiring→Inspired
【5】fully→full
【6】coming →came
【7】his →my
【8】winner →winners
【9】But →Without或者But 和my之间加上 for
【10】or →and
【2】some→any 考查代词。 故some改为any。
【7】his→my 考查代词。 故his改为my。
【9】But →Without或者But 和my之间加上 for 考查虚拟语气。 这里表示“没有”用Without,或者是在But 和my之间加上 for,but for意为“要不是;如果没有”。
Smith 和 the wonderful experience without是并列关系。故or改为and。

When the younger angel asked why, the older angel replied, “Things aren’t always what they seem.”
The next night the pair came to rest at the house of a very poor but very hospitable(好客的) farmer and his wife. After sharing what little food they had, the couple let the angels sleep in their bed where they could have a good night’s rest. Since the owner was so greedy and unwilling to share his good fortune, I asked God if I could seal(封口) the wall so he couldn’t find it. Ladies and gentlemen,
Will you help old when he/she falls down on the street? A recently survey from our class meeting shows that eighty percent of the students think they are sure to help the old because of saving life is more important as anything else. Fifteen percent of the students says whether they help or not depends on the circumstances. However, five percent hold a view which the old shouldn’t be helped. First, they lack the knowledge of first aid, not know how to deal with the situation. Second, they are afraid of getting into trouble.
In my opinion, we should help each others, especially the old people. Please remember “respect the old” is one of our best tradition. Everyone will become old, and if such a case happens to you one day when we’re old, I will say I do need your help.
Thank you.
