答案:D:C;A;C;B;D:B:D;A;C:B;D;B;A;C;D;A;C;A;B;A;C;C;D;B
解析:

2.本题的A、B、C中的三个动词take,mind, miss都可以和a step构成搭配关系,但是意思不同。 Worse still,Dad...a step and fell,sending my new suitcase...down the stairs.

    在此题上失误的原因有以下几个:

    (1)没有想到miss与a step的确搭配;

    (2)没有想到或不清楚miss具有fail to do/take, etc...的意思;

    (3)过多地依靠汉语翻译;

    (4)没有注意本句的语境条件;

    (5)习惯于take a step的固定搭配。

Look out小心。

    (1) How could I ever (31 get) him to finish unloading the ear without screaming at me and making a scene in front of the other girls...

    (2) “(36 Find) the room quickly,” I thought. “Get him into a chair and calmed down.”

    (3) Dad’s face turned decidedly (48 less red) before he could bring out a “yes”.

Get somebody to do something为固定搭配,意为让某人做某事。

7.A项,在……

     (1) “Damn!” he screamed, his face turning red.I knew trouble was ahead.

     (2) ... making a scene in front of the other girls, girls I would have to spend the rest of the year with?

     (3) Doors were opening and faces peering out

     (4) I felt in the bones that...

13.此处需运用global judgment的方法,参见后文the room wasn’t empty at all,由此此处对应选B项empty,空的。

选A。

Kilimanjaro Climb : a Rite of Passage for Father and Son
Climbing Kilimanjaro is a transformational experience for many people. The things that make the mountain hard are the very things that make it so powerful. In the case of my son Josh and I,the walk up Kilimanjaro proved a powerful symbol ofhis transition into manhood, and a great change in our relationship.
Day three on the mountain, Josh was hit with massive headaches. He told me every step felt like a nail driving into his head. And then, on the night we climbed the crater rim, less than 40 minutes from the summit, Josh fell. I was walking ahead, and did not even see it. He was so exhausted that he could not get up. He recalled our guides, debating whether or not they should take him straight down. Josh snapped out of it. He forced himself to his feet, shook the guides off. He set his face towards the peak and just kept marching. Near the summit he caught up with me and we reached the peak together.
“ I’ve never been in so much pain and so happy at the same time,,,he said, as we sat side by side on the frozen rock and looked down over Africa. “You know, in the past when we’d go on camping and rafting trips, you guided and took care of me through it all. But on Kilimanjaro it was different. From the bottom up, I climbed it. I never feltlike a kid, even when 1 was in pain. You never acted like a parent.”
“That’s not quite true,”I replied. “When you told me that on the summit you fell-and I did not even notice, my first thought was, ‘Oh my God! I’m such an awful parent!’ But then it hit me, ‘He got himself up. He walked to the peak on his own. He didn't need me to help.,”
I realized as I spoke that two people had died that night on Kilimanjaro. A child and a parent. It wasjust two friends who walked down the mountain together.

The Great Barn Adventure

One morning when I was 11, I explored the town’s abandoned round grain barn(谷仓). I found a chained sliding door that was wide enough for me to pass through.

Inside, there was a heavy smell of dead mice in the dark. After my eyes adjusted, I noticed a shaft (升降机井) that rose all the way to the top of the barn. On one side was a one-man elevator with a long rope and roller.

I stepped onto the platform and gave the rope a drag and the elevator began sliding up the shaft, but stopped halfway. After a brief panic attack, I noticed holes in the wall at regular intervals, forming a ladder. For reasons known only to an 11-year-old, I decided it would be better to go up than down. So, with shaking hands, I began climbing the wall.

After what seemed like forever, I reached the top of the shaft. I stood up, dusted myself off and found absolutely nothing of interest. It was just an empty room with a ladder leading up to the roof. I climbed all the way up here for this? Then I noticed a fire extinguisher(灭火器),which I’d always wanted to shoot off. So this was the chance of a lifetime. I tried it, and, much to my surprise, the thing worked! It shot out a thick cloud of powder that instantly filled the room. I couldn’t breathe. I was going to choke to death, and they’d probably never even find my body.

Luckily, I remembered the ladder to the roof. I climbed up, popped the straw roof and saw a bright blue sky.

I suddenly realized the dust and powder pouring out of the top could draw attention. So when the dust had settled, I climbed down and slipped out of the chained door. I’m not sure if I was more excited about being alive or about not being caught, but I ran all the way back home.
