Stephen Hawking was born in England in 1942。Unfortunately ，when he was twenty-one years old ，he suffered from a disease of the brain and it was hard for him to move around 。However，he never became discouraged ，and continued his research work and his writing。Not only did he become successful in his research subject on the beginning of space ，matter and time ，but also in 1988 his book On History of Time became a best seller 。In a word，disabled people can make contributions to the society as long as they stick to self-respect，self -confidence，self-improvement and self-reliance。
