　　If you ask about the hottest star in South Korea this year, you will certainly hear the name Rain．The 22-year-old singer is powerful and energetic on stage．His dances and voice are great! On December 18, Rain and other Korean stars, including Baby V, O, X and As One, amazed their fans at the concert “Night of Love” in Beijing．“I love his small eyes and good build(体格),” Said Hanna Kim, 12, a Korean girl who studies in China, “He's a nice person．”

　　Rain's real name is Jung Ji Hoon(郑智薰)．His music teacher thinks his eyes are wet and smiles are sunny．He wrote lots of the songs on his first CD during rainy days．So his teacher gave him the name Rain．

　　When he was a child, he liked to be quiet．He wasn't good at studying．So no one noticed this tall boy in class．But he surprised his classmates in Grade Six．He danced for them all．Everyone looked at him in a different way．So he began to dance more．“I enjoy dancing,” he said．Rain really wanted to sing and dance．He worked hard at school, so that his father would let him dance．He gave up rugby(橄榄球)and put all his time and energy into dancing．When his mother died four years ago, he held the sadness in and kept on practising day and night．

　　Now Rain has won awards with his music．His CDs have sold millions and he has acted in TV shows．Rain doesn't want to sing forever, though．He dreams of doing a different job．“When I stop singing, I'd like to design clothes．Being a designer is my childhood(童年)dream,” he said．

　　On October 16th, 2003, when he came back to the earth after a 21-hour trip to space, Yang Liwei's smile was seen across the world above the magic words：“China's first spaceman”．The 38-year-old astronaut was sent into space at 9∶00 am on 15th by China's Shenzhou V spacecraft, which orbited(绕轨道而行)the earth 14 times．He landed safely at 6∶23 am the next day, making China the third country to successfully send a person into space, after the former(以前的)Soviet Union(苏联)and the US．Yang was satisfied with his job．“I have seen many landing scenes before on video, and I think ours was one of the most successful, ”he said on a special plane to Beijing after landing．

　　While in space, Yang recorded everything he saw as well as showing China's national flag and the United Nations'flag to the people watching on TV at home．He also ate a meal of chicken and fried rice, before taking a 3-hour nap(小睡)．The whole project went according to the plan, but space exploration is not as easy as it seems．He experienced extremely high temperatures, while the gravitational forces(地心引力)on take-off and landing were strong enough to force tears from his eyes．

　　Born into an ordinary family in Liaoning Province, he became a pilot in the Chinese Air Forces in 1987, spending 1,350 hours in the air．He joined the Chinese space program 11 years later．He has spent five years training to become a spaceman．“I eat all of my meals at the space programmer's dining room and have never been able to take my son to kindergarten, ”he said．“I've never met his teachers．But becoming China's first spaceman has made all the effort worthwhile．“When I boarded the spacecraft for the first time, I couldn't help feeling excited, ”he said．“I decided that I had to fly it．”To Chinese people, Yang is now a hero．His trip is a giant leap forward for China．
