Wrest News Service, TORONTO-Last Saturday, a day after finding out he was the last player, who entered into the Indianapolis Tennis Championship, Frank Danceic made the drive from his home in Niagara Falls. Picking up his girlfriend in Detroit along the way.

His knee was bothering him, he didn't have much time to practice once he arrived, and his ATP results have not been very encouraging,

He was not expecting a long visit to Indianapolis. But on his drive back to Niagara Falls, Danceic’s car will be filled with more confidence, a better world ranking and a$42, 800 US cheque after he finished second, a career best, in the competition.    .

“I’ ve never been able to put two wins together, never mind four, ”the 22-year-old said after losing 6-4, 7-5 to Dmitry Tursunov of Russia in Sunday’s final. “But I have a lot more confidence now.”

Tursunov, seeded third, never faced a break point and won in one hour and 16 minutes. In the first set, he broke with the score tied 1-1 and didn’t allow Danceic to fight his way back. In the second set he broke serve(发球)in the 11th game and gained his second career t’title.

Danceic was the first Canadian to play in an ATP final since Greg Rusedski in 1995. “I didn’t play as well as I would have liked, though I am quite able to fight back,”he said.
