When I was about 12, I had an enemy, a girl who liked to point out my shortcomings. Sometimes she said I was thin. Sometimes she said I was lazy. Sometimes she said I wasn’t a good student. My son was studying in a high school in Colorado. He lived in the school. While we were talking on the phone he shared some wonderful news with me.
