Inquiring about studying in the Unites States

Dear Wang Li,

   How are you? It’s a long time since we last met. I hope everything is OK with you.        

I’m going to join you in the United States later this year. I am planning to study in the University of California, which will be a completely new life for me. So I’m excited and also worried, wondering whether I will adapt to the life there.                            

So now I ’m writing this email to ask you for advice. What preparations shall I make before my departure? And I’d also like to know how Chinese students are studying and living in American universities.
