1、Nowadays more and more Chinese people realize English plays a very important role in everyday life and work, so many parents would like their children to start learning English at an early age．They think learning foreign languages is beneficial to children’s intellectual development．In addition, the earlier children start learning a foreign language, the less interference the mother tongue can cause, which makes learning much easier. They also hold the strong belief that a good knowledge of English will lay a good foundation for children’s future careers.

       Despite these advantages, I am still against babies learning English．I am worried that they may mix the Chinese pinyin with English letters．Besides, if they start learning too early, it may make them ignore how important our mother tongue is．
