27、“I have co live on because life is so beautiful.”These words of one of my patients who suffers from(遭受)SARS continue to ring in my ears.This patient’s whole family has been infected(感染)with SARS—her mother and brother have already died and her father is still seriously ill.1 was deeply moved by her courage(勇气) and understood for the first time in my life tile weight of my duty.I have to help others live on.  

When I treated my first SARS patient on April 25,my only worry was that my knowledge in treating SARS patients Was not enough.Many friends of mine keep asking why I’m not frightened.I think it takes no special courage to treat SARS. It is my duty to save other people’s lives and I was trained to do this.When you see a family suffering from SARS and seriously ill patients worrying about their dying relatives,the only thing you want to do is to try to help them.

I treat SARS patients as ordinary patients, never making them ted they are dangerous.I believe this mental support(精神支柱)is important to those suffering from loneliness and despair(绝望).After a day’s work,when lying in bed at the hospital,the most beautiful sound I want to hear is my two—year—old son’s voice.
