    An earthquake that hit Southwest China’s Sichuan Province is one of the worst disasters in recent years in China.

    A 6-year-old girl ate an apple for more than 40 hours in the ruins废墟) until she was pulled out. A high school boy calmly told the other boys to be brave and told the girls not to cry.

    A 3-year-old girl survived the earthquake. But her parents died because they tried to protect their daughter. He helped people save 33 classmates from a fallen wall.

    Many people donated blood to the people in need in the disaster. The blood bank had been filled. Doctors had to tell the waiting crowds to leave their phone numbers and wait until more blood is needed. Groups of doctors from Beijing， Tianjin， Jiangsu， Shandong， Guangdong and many other places went to Sichuan to save the people there.

    People all over the country donated much money to people in Sichuan， including Hong Kong ， Macao and Taiwan. Some other countries also donated money to people in Sichuan. (2) Where there's life， there's hope. We can overcome (战胜) the difficulty and rebuilt a new home.
