Mary's lamb lived for several years.Mary's mother knitted(编织)stockings from the lamb's fleece(毛)and years after the poem became famous,Mary donated more of those stockings to a group that was raising money to protect the Old South Church in Boston.On small cards,Mary wrote,"Knitted yarn(毛线)from the first fleece of Mary's Little Lamb",followed by her signature,Mary E.Sawyer and the date.Those cards,together with her famous story,helped sell the stockings to raise hundreds of dollars.
