    3．Our views towards life change over the time．When I was around five years old，I was in a car accident．At that time，I did not realize the seriousness of it and how lucky I was to still be alive．As I look back to think what happened on that night，I now realize how lucky my family members and I were to not have gotten serious injuries．

    After my brother and I got home that night，I remember my parents let us stay up as long as we wanted to．I guess my parents were realizing just how close they came to losing us that night．As I think of the tragedy （悲剧）that could have happened on that night，I realize how precious （宝贵）life is．I treasure my family and friends，and hope that we will share a loving，caring，and rewarding lifetime together．Things seldom go the way I plan them to，but I take a deep breath，try to laugh，and make the best of it．

    Anger，like all emotions，has played a valuable role in human history．The strong anger helped our ancestors live on thousands of years ago．If they'd never been worried about others stealing their food or animals trying to kill them，they wouldn't have taken necessary action．
    In fact，research suggests that the development of our anger response （反应） has been part of our evolution （进化）．If we're shown pictures of angry faces，for example，we're more excited and then choose something to make us satisfied．So anger makes us get the things we really need．
    Anger also helped us work in close social groups．Losing our cool showed that we were displeased with others，and that they needed to make changes to their behaviour．
    However，life-threatening （威胁生命的） injustice is less likely to happen in our modern societies．The angry response，which plays no real role in keeping us alive，is still kept in our brain．It leads us to get cross about the smaller，unnecessary things．
    Recent examples include a road-anger incident （事件） that left a man dead and a fight that started with two trolleys accidentally running into each other in a supermarket．It seems that anger is becoming a usual communication method．
    Part of the problem is that where we were once worried about keeping a roof over our heads and having a warm meal，now all our basic needs are met and our expectations have risen．We expect everything is prefect．When it isn't，we stamp our feet．
    The good news is that if we have known our anger is often over the top，we might be better able to deal with it．We can check the anger in our brain by asking a simple question：is this matter threatening my life？If not，we could forget it-by finding something really worth getting angry with instead．
